Marksbury Parish encompasses the villages of Marksbury and Stanton Prior and the hamlet of Hunstrete. It is located 7 miles south west of Bath. The surrounding countryside is rural and undulating and hence there are expansive views both into and from the Parish. Farming is still a significant influence in the Parish together with a small leisure industry.

Marksbury Parish Council has responsibility for local issues, including setting an annual precept to cover operating costs and producing annual accounts for public scrutiny. The Parish Council evaluates local planning applications and works with the local police, district council officers and other groups on matters of crime, security and traffic. The Parish Council also consults with the district council on the maintenance, repair and improvement of highways, drainage, footpaths, public transport and street cleaning. Conservation matters (including trees and listed buildings) and environmental issues are also of interest to the Council. The Parish Council has the power to make grants to local organisations.

Please contact us if you have questions concerning the work of the Parish Council, if you have any concerns that you feel the Council should be aware of or where it can help or support you. You can use the navigation menu to find your way around the site.
